Costa Rica is a model democracy in Latin America. This peaceful country has a mild climate, comparatively low taxes, and no army. The people are known for their warmth and graciousness.
	The Beaches of Nosara is located on the Pacific Coast in Guanacaste Province approximately 100 miles due West of  San Jose, the capital city.  "Playas de Nosara" is a large, ecologically planned subdivision developed in the 1960's.
In this five square mile area there are approximately 700 homesites, and half the total land area is dedicated to parks and wildlife reserves.  Access roads and homesites extend from the coastal  hills down to approximately 2.5 miles of beautiful white sand beaches:  Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada.  The lush vegetation in this dry tropical forest is habitat for numerous varieties of birds and animals.

 

The Beaches of Nosara is now an organized truly international community with homeowners from the United States, Canada, European countries, and of course Costa Rica. There is a civic center and a homeowners association that manages the water system, road maintenance, and protection of green areas. There are over 300 homes completed with many year round residents, and several small hotels,bank, surf shops and restaurants.  Two miles inland along the Nosara River is the village of Nosara.  This Costa Rican community with 2,000 residents has two churches, schools, two large grocery stores, a police station, post office, medical clinic, a gas station, a soccer field, a paved airport with daily scheduled flights, plus more restaurants and bars.
